Servant Leader |
The foundation of my leadership is built upon Service. My gift for recognizing the strengths in others and the ability to uplift those around has proven to be a useful and powerful attribute. My need to serve others, combined with my "WE ALL WIN" attitude allows my strong leadership and organizational skillset to flourish. Entering education through the path of School Counseling Director provided a wide lens view of school operations, academics, and culture. Transitioning into administration provided an opportunity to fine-tune my leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, and have a significant impact on my students' learning experiences.
My role as an educator has always been one that is student-centered, and as a current administrator, my sentiments have not waivered. Students first! Always! A mentor once shared, you can't go wrong if you make the right decisions for students. Over the last 20 years, I have made many great decisions - expanding the College Readiness and AP Program, developing cross-curricular studies, decreasing chronic absenteeism, implementing literacy initiatives that increased the SOL pass rate, and structuring a Self-Care program for teachers are just a few. As a lifelong learner, I hope to instill the same eagerness and passion for learning and growing into the students and staff that I serve. I choose to lead through Service! Using my scientific background, I approach educational challenges in a methodical and orderly way, similar to my work in healthcare. I seek to understand, review data to determine needs, and work through a determined set of steps towards resolution. I will bring that same level of problem solving to your organization, combined with a nurturing and generous spirit. My passion, commitment, and enthusiastic energy for cultivating student and adult leaders are unmatched! |
